Gerry Tao

Guanyu Tao is an architect with a Master of Architecture from SCI-Arc and an Associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). As a LEED AP BD+C and USGBC member, he approaches every project with a strong focus on sustainability.

Guanyu is a designer at Gensler’s Los Angeles office with nearly ten years of experience. During his studies, he focused on the relationship between architecture and nature and developed skills in parametric design and computer-generated art, shaping his innovative design approach.

He creates spaces that unite thoughtful design with financial efficiency, from theaters to cultural centers and commercial hubs. His leadership on projects like Tampa Rays and the Vertical Playground, across China and the U.S., highlights his expertise in mixed-use, residential, office, and retail design. His work has earned international recognition and several major awards.
