By day, Jai Thakur assumes the role of a Research Analyst, showcasing his analytical skills. During his off-hours, he channels his creativity into photography, demonstrating his talent as an independent photographer in India.

His artistic endeavors delve into the intricate dynamics of both societal and personal conflicts, exploring the nuanced interplay between the two. Thakur stands out as an independent photographer, navigating diverse subjects with a unique perspective. His creative autonomy allows him to craft authentic visual narratives, unburdened by external influences. In his work, each frame becomes a testament to his commitment to self-expression and exploration. Jai received a Sahapedia grant for his documentation of Delhi's potter community and was a finalist in the POY Asia Awards for his ongoing project on acid attack survivor. Represented by ZUMA Press and a member of Diversify Photo & FairPicture, he has also successfully completed 'Foundry Photojournalism Workshop' with VII Foundation & PhotoWings.
