Meng Zhao holds a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. With extensive experience in global architectural innovation, sustainable design, and smart buildings, he has worked with internationally renowned firms such as SOM (Chicago), UNStudio (Amsterdam), Coop Himmelb(l)au (Vienna), and Rafael Viñoly Architects (Palo Alto). His contributions include major international projects such as the Doha Metro Stations in Qatar, the Chinatown Branch of the Chicago Public Library, and the New Stanford Hospital.
In 2020, he founded Chuxin Tuoyuan Co., Ltd., a multidisciplinary architectural firm based in Beijing. The firm advocates “architectural metabolism” as its design philosophy, exploring the dynamic relationship between architecture, culture, and environment. His representative works include the Finland Musical Art Center and the Beijing Mammoth Ivory Engraving Exhibition Center, which have received multiple international honors including iF Design Award, AMP Architecture MasterPrize, BLT Built Design Awards, DNA Paris Design Awards, MUSE Design Awards, and London Design Awards. His projects have been featured on major media platforms including Domus, ArchDaily and Designboom, demonstrating outstanding contributions to the cultural continuity and regional identity in architecture and spatial design.
