Introduction


Ricardo is Executive Creative Director and Partner of independent creative agency, GUT. Prior to joining GUT, he was an ECD at DAVID. He started with DAVID Buenos Aires when it opened as part of the agency’s first creative team. In 2018, he was promoted to Executive Creative Director in the Miami office following an outstanding 2017 that saw them bring home a record-breaking 24 lions from Cannes, including a Grand Prix, all for projects like Burger King’s “Google Home of the Whopper”, which hacked Google devices to promote the Whopper, and Heinz “Pass the Heinz” that brought a campaign from the show Mad Men to real life.

In 2018 he created Budweiser’s Super Bowl campaign, “Stand by You”. The spot ranked in the Top 3 in the USA TODAY Ad Meter, was the #2 most effective ad of the Super Bowl, garnered +2.1 Billion impressions, and earned a gold Lion and two bronze Lions in Cannes. In total in 2018, Ricardo helped the agency win a total of 14 Lions for seven different campaigns, helped grow the agency and worked on its biggest clients, including ABI, Burger King and Kraft-Heinz. Ricardo has helped shape what advertising looks like in recent years by creating new formats, playing with different media, and having big and powerful creative ideas at the core of everything he does.
