Ashish Gupta is a highly experienced IT professional with a career spanning over 20 years, during which he has demonstrated expertise in building products and platforms that drive business value in the Telecom, Banking, and Financial Services domains. His key specializations lies in developing highly secure, scalable, performant, and low-latency distributed middleware and platforms. These solutions have been successfully deployed and utilized globally for several years, showcasing his proficiency in creating robust and efficient software ecosystems.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gupta has held executive roles in renowned multinational organizations such as Huawei, Capital One, and IonIdea. In these positions, he has taken on responsibilities for profit and loss, as well as overseeing the management of engineering teams and budgets across different geographies.

During his tenure at Huawei, Mr. Gupta led the Enterprise Business Unit, where he was accountable for engineering and delivering software-based distributed platforms to telecom service providers. This involved catering to enterprise customers across Europe, Latin America (LATAM), Asia Pacific (APAC), and the Middle East and North America (MENA). His leadership resulted in directly overseeing an annual revenue of $30 million or more. At Huawei, Mr. Gupta built multiple platforms and middleware that were deployed in the Top 50 and over 200 of the 750+ telecom services provider networks globally. Some of the notable names included Vodafone, Telefonica, America Movil, and Airtel, serving over a billion users worldwide.

Transitioning to his role at Capital One, Mr. Gupta currently serves as a Senior Director of Software Engineering. In this capacity, he manages teams comprising 100+ members with an annual budget exceeding $25 million. His significant contribution lies in spearheading the engineering efforts behind several large-scale platforms. These platforms played a pivotal role in transforming Capital One into the only bank in the industry and country to be fully operational in the public cloud, resulting in annual savings of over multi-million dollars in data center costs—a milestone unmatched by any other bank to date.

The platforms developed at Capital One under Mr. Gupta's guidance are mission-critical for Data and API Security. They are designed to protect over 100s of Petabytes of data in the cloud and secure more than 14+ Billion API transactions daily. This infrastructure facilitates financial services across various digital channels, serving more than 100 million customers. Additionally, Mr. Gupta has been instrumental in creating platforms that drive cloud cost optimization and safeguard customer privacy, consent, and external data sharing.

Beyond his technical contributions, Mr. Gupta plays a crucial role in shaping the organizational tech strategy, vision, and roadmap for the platforms under his leadership. As one of the key stakeholders, he actively participates in driving technology transformation across Capital One.
